James H. Graham

James Harper Graham (born September 18, 1812 in Bovina , New York , † June 23, 1881 in Delhi , New York) was an American politician . Between 1859 and 1861 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

James Harper Graham was born in Bovina, Delaware County during the British-American War . He attended public schools. Then he was a supervisor in the town of Delhi. He presided over the Delaware County's Board of Supervisors . Then he went into farming. Politically, he belonged to the Republican Party .

In the congressional elections of 1858 for the 36th Congress , Graham was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 19th electoral district of New York , where he succeeded Oliver A. Morse on March 4, 1859 . Since he on a run again in 1860 renounced, he left the after March 3, 1861 Congress of.
