Rudolph Bunner

Rudolph Bunner (born August 17, 1779 in Savannah , New York , † July 16, 1837 in Oswego , New York) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1827 and 1829 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Rudolph Bunner was born in Wayne County during the American Revolutionary War . In 1798 he graduated from Columbia College in New York City . He studied law . After receiving his license to practice law, he practiced from 1819 to 1822 in Newburgh , Orange County . In October 1822 he moved to Oswego, Oswego County . In the following years he worked as a manufacturer. He held the post as director of the Oswego Cloth & Carpet Manufacturing Co. He also worked as a large landowner. He also sat on the First Board of Directors of Oswego Canal Co.

Politically, he belonged to the Jacksonian faction. In the 1826 congressional elections for the 20th Congress , Bunner was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 20th  constituency of New York , where he succeeded Nicoll Fosdick and Daniel Hugunin junior on March 4, 1827 . He retired from the after March 3, 1829 Congress of.

He died on July 16, 1837 in Oswego and was buried in the Riverside Cemetery .
