Henry Harrison Hathorn (born November 28, 1813 in Greenfield , New York , † February 20, 1887 in Saratoga Springs , New York) was an American politician . Between 1873 and 1877 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Henry Harrison Hathorn was born in Greenfield, Ulster County , during the British-American War . He attended community schools and graduated from public schools in Greenfield. Harthorn was the discoverer of the "Harthorn Mineral Spring" . Between 1839 and 1849 he was in business in Saratoga Springs. Between 1853 and 1856 and between 1862 and 1865 he was sheriff in Saratoga County . He held the post as supervisor of Saratoga Springs in 1858, 1860, 1866 and 1867 . Politically, he belonged to the Republican Party .

In the congressional election of 1872 for the 43rd Congress Hathorn was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 19th electoral district of New York , where he succeeded Elizur H. Prindle on March 4, 1873 . In 1874 he ran for a seat in Congress in the 20th constituency of New York. After a successful election, he succeeded David Wilber on March 4, 1875 . He retired from the after March 3, 1877 Congress of.

After his time at the congress he went into the mineral water business. He died on February 20, 1887 in Saratoga Springs and was then buried in Greenridge Cemetery .
