Frederick A. Johnson

Frederick Avery Johnson (born January 2, 1833 in Fort Edward , New York , † July 17, 1893 in Glens Falls , New York) was an American politician . Between 1883 and 1887 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Frederick Avery Johnson attended community schools and graduated from Glens Falls Academy . He did banking and wool business in New York City . Then he did banking in Glens Falls. He was president of the Village of Glens Falls. Politically, he belonged to the Republican Party .

In the 1882 congressional elections for the 48th Congress , Johnson was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 18th electoral district of New York , where he succeeded John Hammond on March 4, 1883 . In 1884 he ran for the 49th Congress in the 21st constituency of New York . After a successful election, he succeeded George W. Ray on March 4, 1885 . Since he on a run again in 1886 renounced, he left the after 3 March 1887 Congress of.

He died on July 17, 1893 in Glens Falls, Warren County, and was then buried in Bay Street Cemetery .
