Theodore Albert Peyser (born February 18, 1873 in Charleston , West Virginia , † August 8, 1937 in New York City ) was an American politician . Between 1933 and 1937 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Theodore Albert Peyser was born in Charleston about eight years after the end of the Civil War . He attended public schools. Then he pursued various activities until 1893. At this time he moved to Cincinnati ( Ohio ), where he worked as a business traveler. He practiced this profession until 1900. Then he moved to New York City. He was in the life insurance business. Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Party .

In the 1932 congressional elections for the 73rd Congress , Peyser was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 17th constituency of New York , where he succeeded Ruth Baker Pratt on March 4, 1933 . He was re-elected twice in a row, but died on August 8, 1937 during his last term in New York City. His body was interred in United Cemetery , Cincinnati.
