Noadiah Johnson

Noadiah Johnson (born 1795 in Connecticut , † April 4, 1839 in Albany , New York ) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1833 and 1835 he represented the state of New York in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Noadiah Johnson completed his preparatory studies. In 1817 he moved to Delaware County . He studied law . After obtaining his license to practice law, he began practicing in Delhi . Johnson held from June 1825 to November 1833 the post as district attorney (English. District attorney ) of Delaware County. He was one of the publishers of the Delaware Gazette .

Politically, he belonged to the Jacksonian faction. In the 1832 congressional election for the 23rd Congress , Johnson was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 20th  electoral district of New York , where he succeeded Charles Dayan and Daniel Wardwell on March 4, 1833 . He retired after the March 3, 1835 from the Congress .

After his time in Congress, he sat in the New York Senate from 1837 until his death on April 4, 1839 . His body was buried in the Old Delhi Cemetery in Delhi.
