Richard Keese

Richard Keese (born November 23, 1794 in Peru (today Au Sable ), Clinton County , New York , † February 7, 1883 in Keeseville, Au Sable, Clinton County) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1827 and 1829 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Richard Keese attended community schools and the Keeseville Academy . After that he worked in agriculture. Politically, he belonged to the Jacksonian faction. In the 1826 congressional election for the 20th Congress , Keese was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 19th electoral district of New York , where he succeeded Henry H. Ross on March 4, 1827 . He retired from the after March 3, 1829 Congress of. After his time at the congress he went to auction business. He was a judge on the Court of Common Pleas in Clinton County in 1835 and 1836. He died on February 7, 1883 in Keeseville in Au Sable Town and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery .
