The Sparkasse Westmünsterland is a public savings bank based in Ahaus and Dülmen . Its sponsor is a special purpose association of the Borken and Coesfeld districts as well as the cities of Dülmen, Gronau , Coesfeld , Vreden , Isselburg , Stadtlohn and Billerbeck .

Savings Banks Finance Group

The Sparkasse Westmünsterland is part of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and thus also belongs to its liability association. He secures the existence of the institutes and ensures that they can meet all liabilities even in the event of individual savings banks becoming insolvent . The Sparkasse arranges home loan and savings contracts from the regional building society , open investment funds from Deka and insurance from Provinzial NordWest . In the area of leasing , Sparkasse Westmünsterland works together with Deutsche Leasing . The Sparkassenverband Westfalen-Lippe assumes the role of the Sparkasse central bank . The legal bases are the Savings Banks Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (SpkG) and the statutes issued by the Zweckverband.

In addition to Ahaus and Dülmen, the Sparkasse has other main offices in Borken, Coesfeld, Gronau and Lüdinghausen. Billerbeck, Stadtlohn and Vreden are so-called regional offices as the headquarters of former savings banks.

On July 1, 2003, what was then Sparkasse Coesfeld merged with Kreissparkasse Borken to form Sparkasse Westmünsterland. The oldest roots of the Sparkasse Westmünsterland go back to the Sparkasse Vreden founded in 1841.

With effect from January 1, 2011, Sparkasse Westmünsterland added Sparkasse Stadtlohn and, with effect from January 1, 2015, Sparkasse Gronau .
