Christian Schulze Pellengahr , actually Christian Schulze Pellengahr Freiherr von Freusberg-Steinhorst , (* 13. December 1975 in Coesfeld ) is a German politician of the CDU . He has been the district administrator of the Coesfeld district since 2015 .

Christian Schulze Pellengahr Freiherr von Freusberg-Steinhorst is the youngest of two children from the marriage of Bernhard and Mechthild Schulze Pellengahr. He grew up in Nottuln - Darup .

His uncle, Hubert Schulze Pellengahr from Ascheberg , was a member of the German Bundestag and district administrator of the Lüdinghausen district from 1949 to 1961, his grandfather, Burchard Schulze Pellengahr was represented on the city council in Greven and in the district council of the Münster district for many years .

Christian Schulze Pellengahr is married and has three children. During his studies he became a member of the Catholic student associations KDStV Ascania Bonn , FAV Rheno-Guestfalia (Hann. Münden) Göttingen, KÖStV Rudolfina Vienna and KDStV Winfridia (Breslau) Münster .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1995 in Coesfeld, he first did his military service in Coesfeld and completed training as a reserve officer (Lieutenant Colonel d. R.). This was followed by studies in law, history and agricultural sciences at the universities of Bonn , Vienna , Göttingen and Münster as a scholarship holder of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung . In 2001 he passed the first state examination in law, completed his legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Münster , including positions at the Catholic Office in Düsseldorf and the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe in Münster . In 2005, the second state examination in law followed in Düsseldorf and, after completing a postgraduate course in canon law, the licentiate examination in canon law at the University of Münster.

In 2008 he was a state-canonical work through the law school of the University of Potsdam for Dr. iur. utr. PhD. He is the author of several specialist articles on regional history and has been a member of the local council of his home town of Nottuln for years, first as a knowledgeable citizen , then as a council member . In his home parish in Darup he has been in charge of the parish archives since 1988 and was a member of the parish council until the parish merged.

In 2008 he was unanimously elected First Alderman of the Municipality of Velen . Before that, he worked as a junior lawyer at the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe. In 2009 the citizens elected him full-time mayor of the municipality of Velen, district of Borken . In 2014 he was re-elected. During his tenure there, he was awarded city rights on August 23, 2012, he was granted debt-free status in February 2012 and the Abraham Frank Secondary School was founded.

On September 13, 2015 he was elected with 62.1% to the district administrator of the Coesfeld district as the successor to Konrad Püning , who was retiring. Schulze Pellengahr was introduced to his post on October 21, 2015 as the 15th main administrative officer of the Coesfeld district since it was founded in 1816.
