The Sparkassen-Arena is a multi-purpose hall in the southern Burgau district of the Thuringian city of Jena . The hall is on the basketball team of the Science City Jena used as a venue.
history
In August 2013 the topping-out ceremony was celebrated on the construction site. The official inauguration of the Sparkassen-Arena with an extensive supporting program took place on January 5, 2014 with the Thuringian derby of Science City Jena against the Oettinger Rockets Gotha (90:74). The seven million euros expensive building has 2,600 m 2 Utility Area and offers 3,000 spectators. Under the covers a 32 m hanging two large LED - video cube .
