Museum building

The museum is located in the former village school, at Schulstrasse 1 . The school building was built in 1820. The Reckahn School , built by Friedrich Eberhard von Rochow in Reckahn , served as a model for the building . The Kleßen school was renovated in 2005 and 2006 and has been used as a toy museum ever since. The toy museum is sponsored by the non-profit association “Toy Museum in Havelland eV”. A cafeteria belonging to the museum is located south of the schoolhouse, in the schoolmaster's former small animal stable.

Collector

The exhibits in the toy museum come from two Berlin collectors. The initiator of the toy museum was Hans-Jürgen Thiedig. It is thanks to him that his collection, which he has assembled over four decades, has been made accessible to the public. Claus-Peter Jörger also collects and trades in antique toys . A selection of his high-quality exhibits has already been shown in the National Museum in Szczecin .
