Meanwhile, Madison tries her old friend, the dolphin Salty, who was found in a research laboratory by scientist Dr. Otto Benus is held captive to free.

Reviews

The lexicon of international films characterizes the film as visibly more trying than its predecessor, although this film would quickly run out of ideas. It was nothing more than the usual, non-committal, sentimental conversation from the Disney workshop.

backgrounds

  • Due to the low budget (3.3 million US dollars ), none of the leading actors in the first film could be won for this television film. Dody Goodman (Mrs. Stimler) is the only actress in the first film to be seen in the second.
  • The film could not build on the success of its predecessor, as it had the quality of a B-movie .
  • Splash, Too was shot as the first film in the new Disney-MGM studios .
  • Amy Yasbeck wore a blonde wig because she actually has red hair.
  • Daryl Hannah's mermaid tail was too tight for Amy Yasbeck. So a new one was made for them. It took three people to put it on to her because it was very heavy.
  • As for the first film, Thom Shouse designed the mermaid costume.
  • In some underwater scenes, the stunt double Arlene Klein was shown instead of Amy Yasbeck .

Contradictions to the predecessor

  • At the end of the first film, Madison says that Allen could never return if he walked into her world.
  • Although she was on all the news by the end of the first movie, no one remembers her anymore.
  • In the first film, it was never mentioned that Madison has the ability to communicate through water with people who are not near her, with the faces of the people on the surface of the water also visible to her. ("Cable TV for Mermaids").
