The Sportwerk Hamburg is the largest squash facility in Hamburg .

history

The facility was built by Heinz Marquardt in 1980 with expansion in 1984 on a 5,684 m² building plot (urban land) in Hamburg-Stellingen for around DM 6.0 million in a massive, two-storey construction as the Marquardt Squash Center . The building has a usable area of ​​2,400 m², of which approx. 1,200 m² are used for the squash area, approx. 200 m² for the fitness area and approx. 500 m² for the catering / service and sanitary and technical areas. The sports facility has been managed and operated by Sportwerk GmbH since 2013. Center manager is the Dutch squash trainer Bart Wijnhoven. The facility was extensively renovated and rebuilt in 2014/2015.

In September 2016, the only permanent four-sided glass court in Germany was opened in the Sportwerk, which also meets international standards and is used in a mobile version on the professional tour .
