The Spree-Comtess passenger ship was built from 2002 to 2003 at the Hermann Barthel shipyard in Derben and launched in 2003.

history

The Spree-Comtess is the first new building by the Riedel shipping company since it was founded in Berlin . It was manufactured in three sections at the Hermann Barthel GmbH shipyard in Derben in 2002/03 and assembled outside the workshop. It is specially designed for sightseeing tours through the Landwehr Canal and offers 330 seats on the upper deck alone. In the lower saloon there is space for 220 people depending on the seating. This makes the Spree-Comtess the largest ship currently operated by the Riedel shipping company.

The salon was provided with air conditioning and ventilation technology . There is also a dance floor. The counter and the kitchen area are designed for catering. The ship is controlled by a 360 ° rotatable Schottel rudder propeller in conjunction with a bow thruster .

The ceremonial christening of the ship took place on April 28, 2003 at the Kottbuser Brücke mooring on Maybachufer in the presence of the  Senator for Economic Affairs, Harald Wolf . The godfather was Hanns Peter Nerger, at the time managing director of Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH (today: Berlin Tourismus & Kongress GmbH).
