Stéphan Buckland (also spelled Stéphane Buckland ; born January 12, 1977 in Floréal near Curepipe ) is a former Mauritian track and field athlete who started in particular over 200 meters .

Buckland's first major international appearance was at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton. With a time of 20.24 seconds, he finished sixth in the final run over 200 meters. Two years later at the World Championships in Paris, he climbed to fifth place. It ran for 20.41 s. This placement and the good performance at numerous international sports festivals entitled him to participate in the IAAF World Finals . He finished third in Monte Carlo .

In 2004 it made its Olympic premiere at the Athens Games . He finished sixth in 20.24 s. This year he was again at the IAAF World Finals , and again he finished third.

The 2005 World Championships in Helsinki gave Buckland another fifth world championship place. In the final, he ran half the stadium lap in 20.41 s.

The man from Mauritius won a medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games . With 20.47 seconds he had the same time as the winner Omar Brown (Jamaica) in the final run , but still had to admit defeat - he won silver. He also landed silver at the 2006 and 2008 African Championships.

Stéphan Buckland had a competition weight of 70 kg with a height of 1.78 m. He is married and has one daughter.
