St. Amand in Thomery

The Catholic parish church of Saint-Amand in Thomery , a parish in the Seine-et-Marne department of the Île-de-France region , was built in the 13th century. The church on Place Greffulhe has been a protected architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1948 .

The church, consecrated to St. Amand of Maastricht , was rebuilt in the 15th century and in 1717 received two aisles and a kind of “false transept ”.

The slate-roofed bell tower sits on the second yoke of the nave. It consists of a wooden structure with a pointed hood . The portal to the west with a flat arch is flanked by two buttresses . There is a sculpture of St. Amand above the portal.
