St-Crépin-St-Crépinien (Bréançon)
The Roman Catholic Church of St-Crépin-St-Crépinien in Bréançon , a French commune in the Val-d'Oise department of the Île-de-France region , was built from the 12th century. The church has been a protected architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1980 .
architecture
The patrons of the church, which began in the 12th century, are the Christian martyrs Crispinus and Crispinianus . The single-nave church has a transept and a choir from the 13th century, which ends in a straight line. A two-storey tower with coupled arched windows and inserted columns at the corners rises above the crossing . The bell was cast in 1587.
A Romanesque capital of the church from the 12th century is exhibited in the mayor's office ( Mairie ).
Furnishing
The 12th century holy water font is on a pillar opposite the entrance. A polychrome sculpture of St. Crispinus dates from the 14th century. The baptismal font from the 16th century is adorned with three-pass arcades and floral motifs. The wooden altarpiece from the 17th century with columns and scenes from the New Testament is intricately gilded.
