The Catholic Church of St-Didier in Bruyères-le-Châtel , a French commune in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region , was originally built in the 10th century in the Romanesque style. The St. Desiderius of Langres church dedicated since 1931 as a monument historique on the list of monuments in France.

description

The church is first mentioned in 1070 as belonging to the Saint-Florent monastery in Saumur . From the 14th to the 16th century, major Gothic-style renovations took place. The tower on the northwest side of the transept is the oldest part of the building. The portal was rebuilt in 1852. The two- bay nave is covered by a ribbed vault from the 14th century. Parts of the windows are from the same period. The choir with a five-eighth closure was enlarged in the 16th century. The transept is closed at both ends with chapels.

Furnishing

In the three-story tower, which is covered with slate , there is a bell from 1682.

From the equipment the wooden's altar and the pulpit from the 18th century mention.

In the chapels of the transept, stained glass windows from the 15th century depicting saints have been preserved.

The reclining figures by Marguerite de Bruyères and Jacqueline de Biauvas are works from the 15th century.
