The Roman Catholic Church of St-Germain in Manneville-la-Raoult , a French town in the Eure department in the Normandy region , was built from the 11th century. The Romanesque parish church has been a protected architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1977 .

description

The west facade is made of tuff and pink mortar . Four strong buttresses structure this facade. The portal has unprofiled round arches and a slate-covered bell tower sits on the flattened gable . The three- bay central nave was originally flanked by a south aisle. The choir from the second quarter of the 12th century is covered by a ribbed vault. The ribs from a strong bead overlap without keystones . They are supported on strong consoles or on corner pillars with simple capitals . A stilted round arch with a double unprofiled archivolt forms the transition between the choir and the nave . On the south side a Gothic chapel was added in the 15th century , which forms a kind of southern transept.
