The Roman Catholic parish church of St-Lucien in Avernes , a French parish in the Val-d'Oise department in the Île-de-France region , was built from the 12th century. The building now belongs to the diocese of Pontoise and has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1945 .

history

Only the portal remains of the 12th century church in the transition from Romanesque to Gothic . In the 13th century, the church was renovated in a Gothic style and after a fire in 1434 it was rebuilt. During the Huguenot Wars , the church was destroyed again in 1590 and then in the 17th century the transept and the choir were newly vaulted. The nave was renewed in the 19th century.

The east-facing church has a cruciform floor plan . A transept in simple Gothic style separates the choir from the nave with two aisles. Above the transept a simple squat square tower with very tapering octagonal rises spire .
