The Catholic Church of St-Pierre in Visseiche , a French parish in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in the Brittany region , was originally built in the 11th century and rebuilt in the 16th century. The church consecrated to the Apostle Peter has been classified as a Monument historique since 1990 .

architecture

From Romanesque building is the south wall that by buttresses supported from the same period, with a window in shooting chart form received. On the north side was nave in 1537 extended by one aisle and at the same time it extended the choir , which now has a straight final.

The bell tower was added to the facade in 1828 when the nave was extended to the west. The representation of a Christ on the cross can be seen above the arched portal.

Furnishing

From the equipment the two are stained glass windows from the 16th century worth mentioning that the Passion and the Virgin represents with Jesus. The founder Jacques de Champégné, the Seigneur de la Montagne , kneels before Maria .

The other seven stained glass windows were made in the Lecomte et Colin workshop in Rennes from 1880 to 1882 .
