history

The oldest parts of the Koslar church were built around 1500. This Gothic church was expanded in the 16th and 17th centuries. In 1937 the church was rebuilt according to plans by the Aachen architect Peter Hensen. During the Second World War , the church was very badly damaged, so that only the surrounding walls of the church stood. After the war, the church was rebuilt with the help of the architect Peter Schiffer.

Until December 31, 2012 Koslar was an independent parish. On January 1, 2013 the parish was merged with 13 other former parishes to form the parish of Heilig Geist Jülich.

Furnishing

In the church there is a large mural from 1978 behind the altar. The furnishings are mostly modern. The windows of the church were created in the 1950s and 1970s by the two artists Ernst Jansen-Winkeln and Frans Griesenbrock . (accessed on August 28, 2014)
