St. Franz Sales is a Roman Catholic branch church in the city of Jülich in the Düren district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

history

In the 1960s, a new residential area was built in the north of the city due to the Jülich Research Center . So there was a need for a new church. In 1968 a vicariate was established. This was raised to a parish in 1972. The octagonal church was built between 1971 and 1972 according to plans by the Jülich architect Helmut Rademächers.

Until December 31, 2012, St. Franz Sales was an independent parish . On January 1, 2013 the parish was merged with 13 other former parishes to form the parish of Heilig Geist Jülich.

Furnishing

The altar , ambo and the altar cross were created by Peter Haak. The Way of the Cross in the church is the work of the artist HAP Grieshaber . The windows of the church were designed by Wilhelm Buschulte in 1970.

organ

The church council awarded the contract for the construction of the organ to the Weimbs company in Hellenthal (Eifel) on October 28, 1981 . The instrument has a mechanical performance and an electrical stop action.
