St. Antonius (Munster)
The Catholic Church of St. Antonius belongs to the parish of St. Joseph in Münster .
history
The then parish church of St. Antonius was built from 1914 to 1917 according to plans by Ludwig Becker as a neo-baroque church with a transept and a large dome over the crossing . The outer walls were destroyed by bombing raids during World War II.
From 1949 to 1952, the current building was rebuilt under the guidance of Dominikus and Gottfried Böhm in the old, but largely simplified form without a dome and transept. The interior and choir have been completely redesigned as a bright hall with large cones on the sides. The ceiling is made up of many parallel, dark ribs . The large west window with a glass painting by Vinzenz Pieper also dates from this period.
organ
The organ on the west gallery was built in 1955 by Johannes Klais Orgelbau (Bonn). It has a total of 37 stops on three manuals and a pedal . Main unit, swell unit and pedal (each with a cone drawer) are positioned in niches to the left and right of the west window, the back positive (pocket drawer) is embedded in the parapet. The actions are electro-pneumatic, those of the Rückpositiv are electric.

crypt
The crypt was renovated in 2005 and has been used by the parish of St. Joseph for parish and family services, weddings, etc. since the merger in 2008. The church, parsonage and parsonage were handed over to the diocese of Münster , which in turn makes them available to the foreign missions of Poles, Spaniards, Latin Americans and Tamils.

Bells
A five-part bronze bell from the foundry Monasterium Eijsbouts from 1961 (north tower 3.5; south tower 1, 2, 4) hangs across the two towers of the church . It is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Münster.
Due to the corrosion of the iron reinforcements inserted in the crowns at the factory, the three bells of the south tower showed irreparable cracks in the crowns that were relevant to safety from 1995 onwards. On May 16, 1997, three new bells of the same denomination (d 1 -e 1 -g 1 ) were cast at the Rincker company in Sinn / Hessen. The new bells were consecrated on June 1, 1997 on the church forecourt. The new bells took over the names of their predecessors, the inscription reads "Anno Domini 1961 + Refacta 1997". The characteristics and the sound of the bell have not deteriorated due to the new casting.
