St. Barbara is the Roman Catholic parish church in the Muldenau district of the city of Nideggen in the Düren district (North Rhine-Westphalia).

The church is registered as a monument under number 73 in the list of architectural monuments in Nideggen .

history

The oldest part of the Muldenau church is the three-story, late-Gothic bell tower from the 15th century. It is not known whether there was a church in Muldenau before this time. In 1866, today's single-nave, three - bay neo - Gothic nave with a choir closed on three sides was added to the tower . However, the choir is not oriented to the east , as usual , but to the west.

Furnishing

Almost all of the neo-Gothic furnishings from the period between 1900 and 1908 have been preserved in the interior. Of these, the high altar and the associated side altar, as well as the pulpit , the benches, the confessional and the Way of the Cross should be mentioned . The ornamental painting from the same period in the vaults and window openings has also been preserved . The windows are works by an unknown artist from 1935.
