description

The former gate chapel of the Hude monastery , an early Gothic hall church made of monastery format stones , has served as a Protestant parish church since around 1548 . It has a straight end to the choir . The nave , the longitudinal walls of which are supported by buttresses , is covered with a gable roof from which a roof tower rises to the west , in which a church bell , cast by Goteke Klinghe in 1488, hangs. On the long sides of the nave are two-lane lancet windows , namely tracery windows with a circle at the top. On the wall of the choir in the east there is a window made of 3 lancet arches with 3 circles. The 3 yokes of the interior are covered with a four-part ribbed vault with busted caps. The services of the walls only support the shield arches , the vault ribs and straps sit on the consoles . In the interior there are wall paintings from the time of origin. In the vault of the choir, Christ in the mandorla, the enthroned Mary with child and a holy king are depicted, on the front wall Saint Catherine and Elizabeth. In the second yoke is Jonas and the whale, in the third yoke is St. Martin, the Fall and the Brazen Serpent. 24 small reliefs of a Gothic altar with scenes from the New Testament from the Annunciation to Pentecost in the new frame date from the first half of the 14th century. A triumphal cross is from the beginning of the 16th century. The pulpit is dated 1672. The 4 evangelists stand between pillars at the pulpit .
