The Catholic branch church of St. Georg in the Krebsbacher Hof residential area of Meuspath , a local community in the Ahrweiler district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), was built in the middle of the 16th century. The church is a protected cultural monument .

history

The church was created as a separate church of the Nürburg Burgmann family . It is first mentioned in 1563. The consecration of the church has been handed down for the year 1650, probably when a new building was built .

architecture

The single-nave, plastered quarry stone building with a three-sided east end is 11.40 m long and 3.65 m wide. On the long sides there are two rectangular windows and in the west a portal in basalt lava frames . A roof turret with rectangular sound openings sits on the slate-covered gable roof in the east . Inside, the ceiling consists of a quarter-ton made of wood with underlaid ribs.

Furnishing

The altar , from the second half of the 17th century, has an oil painting depicting St. George between two twisted columns with tendrils. The top is the image of Our Lady. To the right and left are wooden statues of the apostles Peter and Paul.
