The St. Hubertus Church is a Catholic church consecrated to St. Hubertus , the patron saint of hunting , in Niederlosheim in Saarland , a district of the municipality of Losheim am See in the Merzig-Wadern district . In the list of monuments of the Saarland the church building is a single monument listed.

history

The church was built in 1763. Between 1955 and 1957, reconstruction and expansion measures were carried out according to plans by the architect Schulz ( Hilhaben ).

Church building

The church building is divided into a four-axis nave , followed by a transept , which in turn is adjoined by a three-sided choir with a straight end. This results in the shape of a Latin cross as a floor plan . At the point where the southern arm of the transept branches off from the nave, the church tower is placed in the resulting angle. There are galleries in the transept arms . Another gallery is attached above the entrance portal .

Bells

In the church tower there is a four-part bronze bell ringing from 1955, cast by the Saarlouiser bell foundry in Saarlouis-Fraulautern, which was founded by Karl (III) Otto from the Otto bell foundry in Bremen-Hemelingen and Alois Riewer from Saarland in 1953. The bronze bells have the following striking notes: e ′ - f sharp ′ - g sharp ′ - h ′. They have the following diameters: 1259 mm, 1121 mm, 999 mm, 874 mm. The bell has a total weight of 3520 kg.

Organ prospectus
Swallow's nest

The organ of the church was built in 1956 by the organ building company Weise ( Plattling ).

In 1973 the positive was moved from the rear gallery to the south wall of the nave by master organ builder Herbert Schmidt (Mersch / Luxembourg ) and the entire organ was also cleaned. In 1977 Schmidt repaired an apparently deliberate water damage caused by the introduction of liquid into the pipe bores of the prospectus drawer on the main housing.

The instrument has 24 (25) registers , divided into three manuals and a pedal . The game and stop action is electro-pneumatic. The disposition is as follows:
