History and architecture
The parish was already a parish in 1148 . The massive west tower has been preserved from the medieval predecessor church.
The neo-Gothic stepped hall with a transept was built by Ludwig Becker from Ibbenbürener sandstone from 1913 to 1916 . The two towers are in the choir corner, the choir in the 5/8 end has moved in. In the interior, Rabitz vaults rest on octagonal pillars. The tracery in the windows resembles fish bubbles . The colored glazing from 1915 is labeled Bernhard Kraus.
Furnishing
- The carved main altar shows Christ in the mandorla .
- The carved side altars are of St. Mary and St. Consecrated to Antonius Abbot, they probably come from the workshop of Becker & Brockhinke.
- The choir stalls with early Renaissance fillings and folded work are designated 1540; in 1924 it was partially expanded and changed.
- The carved Pietà dates from the first half of the 15th century.
- Twelve almost life-size sandstone figures were made around 1620 in Gerhard Gröninger's workshop . The figures stand on angel consoles and probably originally stood in the former Minorite Church in Münster.
- The stone figure of St. Johannes d. T. was heavily revised. It is marked 1731 on the console.
- The painting from the 18th century shows the apocalyptic woman with the child . The child stabs the head of a snake. On the frame is a coat of arms of those von und zur Mühlen from the former high altar designed by CJ Schlaun .
