The church

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Johannes Nepomuk is located in Hasenfeld , a district of the city of Heimbach in the Düren district , North Rhine-Westphalia , directly on Landesstraße 218 with the address Schwammenaueler Str. 89.

The village church bears the patronage of St. John of Nepomuk .

The first church dates from 1751, as can still be read on the lintel today. It was destroyed in ruins by British and American soldiers during World War II. This can be seen in connection with the All Souls' Battle in the nearby Huertgen Forest .

The small hall church is made of rubble stones and has a polygonal choir closure . The roof turret is slated . The windows have sandstone walls . The interior is more recent. The Madonna and the Christ statue from the 18th century are still preserved.

Today, now around six times larger chapel was on 28 November 1952 inaugurated .

The church was entered on April 21, 1989 under No. 36 in the list of monuments.
