St. Nikolaus (Hausen near Heimbach)

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Nikolaus is located in the Heimbach district of Hausen , Düren district , North Rhine-Westphalia , right next to Hausen Castle .
The small hall church is made of quarried stone was bricked in 1834, in classical forms with an attached tower . The church was in the 1 October 1987 list of architectural monuments in Heimbach (Eifel) registered under no. 9th The entry reads:
“1834/1835, extension 1911; (Arch. Ulich) 3-bay hall church with set east tower, the church relocated to the west with a small western sacristy arch, straight choir closure, 3 yokes, the windows are round-arched, mantelpiece cornice, garments and cornices made of red sandstone, the east entrance with a round-arched portal, in the upper area of the niche bezel opening, with equipment z. In 1804 the parish of St. Nikolaus Hausen became independent, after having been supplied by a vicar from Vlatten since 1347 and St. Sacrament could be kept in the St. Nicholas Chapel. Already on October 20, 1730, during the visitation, the parish in Hausen filed a request to separate from the parish Vlatten due to the considerable distance and the payment of two sextons . But only in 1804 after the establishment of the Diocese of Aachen by Napoleon under Bishop Marc-Antoine Berdolet it was completed. As an annex , the Blens chapel community was added to it, which until then belonged to the Berg community .
At the beginning of the 21st century, the parish of St. Nikolaus Hausen and the chapel parish of St. Georg Blens merged with the parishes of St. Clemens Heimbach, St. Dionysius Vlatten and St. Martin Hergarten to form the community of the communities of Heimbach . They all belong to the Heimbach-Nideggen dean's office.
In 2004 the parish celebrated its 200th anniversary. It was led since 1963 by Pastor Josef Rombouts († 2001) and most recently by Pastor Johannes Bündgens, who has since been appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Aachen .
