The Church of St. John the Baptist in Tröbes is a branch church of the Roman Catholic Parish Moosbach . The church is located in the district of Tröbes in the Upper Palatinate district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab (Tröbes 41).

history

As early as 1335 it is noted that the inhabitants of Tröbes had to pay the blood tithing to the parish of Moosbach, i. H. from the geese, ducks and chickens the tenth piece, from a cow 3 kr and from a lamb also 3 kr. Likewise, the big toe had to be paid for wheat, grain, barley and oats, and the small toe (green toe) for potatoes, krauz, cod and beets. According to the Salbuch of 1336, the village belonged to the St. Emmeram monastery and was administered by the provost of Böhmischbruck .

Church building

In 1889 the community of Tröbes applied for the establishment of its own pastoral care office, and in 1893 again for a branch church. A church building association was founded in 1929. The foundation stone was laid on August 13, 1933; the church was consecrated on June 24, 1934.

In 1952 the church received an organ for 11,000 DM , built by the organ building company Weise (Plattling). In 1968 the tower was added with a pointed helmet . On July 15, 1968, Auxiliary Bishop Josef Hiltl consecrated the branch church.

Furnishing

The modern church is a hall church with a pitched roof . There is a hipped roof over the drawn-in rectangular choir . The entrance porch and the buttresses are made of embossed blocks.

Inside the church is equipped with two baroque side altars and other late baroque figures. The left side altar represents a station of the cross, the right the lamentation at the grave of Christ . In the chancel hangs a cross of Christ with the figures of Mother Mary and an evangelist, the Apostle John . Other figures inside the church are St. John the Baptist , the nursing father Joseph and an Apocalyptic Madonna and Child .

Bells

After the church tower was built , four bells were purchased from the Rudolf Perner bell foundry in Passau. They have a total weight of 1329 kg and are tuned in the tones g 1 , b 1 , d 2 and e 2 . The largest bell is dedicated to the church patron St. John the Baptist, the others to St. Mary, the poor souls and the Holy Cross . The consecration of bells took place on July 20, 1967.
