St. Katharina (Sülzhayn)
The Evangelical Lutheran listed church of St. Katharina is located in Sülzhayn , a district of Ellrich in the Nordhausen district of Thuringia . The parish Sülzhayn is part of the parish area Ellrich in Kirchenkreis Südharz the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The baroque hall church made of plastered rubble stones was built around 1700. The square choir tower , it comes from the late Gothic previous building, has a massive ground floor and late Gothic tracery windows . In a square and then an eight-page in the 18th century were floor of half-timbered , placed partially with a slate coverage is provided. On top of it sits a hood crowned with a lantern .
The nave has a slate roof . It has three-sided galleries , in the west it is two-story, and is spanned with a compressed barrel vault. The church furnishings include a carved late Gothic winged altar . The organ with 20 registers , divided between two manuals and a pedal , was built by Robert Knauf & Sohn around 1870 , the disposition was changed by Wilhelm Sohnle around 1960 and restored by Norbert Sperschneider in 1986.
