St. Kilian (Holzhausen)

The Roman Catholic Curative Church of St. Kilian is located in Holzhausen , a district of the Lower Franconian community of Dittelbrunn in the Schweinfurt district . It belongs to the architectural monuments of Dittelbrunn and is registered under the number D-6-78-123-22 in the Bavarian list of monuments. Holzhausen is merged with Dittelbrunn, Hambach and Pfändhausen to form the parish community Marienbachtal.

history

In earlier times, Holzhausen was a branch of Pfersdorf . The choir tower of the church was built in 1608 under Prince-Bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn . The baroque nave was built in 1736. In the 1970s the church was renovated.

Description and equipment

The church consists of the nave with three window axes and the eastern church tower , a Julius Echter tower . The high altar is classicistic from around 1780, as is the pulpit . The side altars are early Baroque works around 1660 with wooden figures of Saints Kilian and Rochus around 1510. On the ceiling of the nave there is a painting depicting St. Kilian above a representation of the village of Holzhausen. In the corners there are medallions of the four evangelists.
