The Catholic parish church of St. Lambert is a listed church building in Arfurt , a district of Runkel , in the Limburg-Weilburg district in Hesse .

Architecture and history

The wide hall with a semicircular choir closure was built between 1827 and 1829. The sacristy rooms are located in the spandrels that protrude like a transept on the outside . The pilaster portal stands between the two square west towers, which are crowned with tent roof lanterns. The interior was painted in 1905, this painting was removed during a renovation in 1960. The exterior renovation was done in a hard white.

Furnishing

  • The magnificent high altar in natural wood with marquetry was created around 1760
  • The crucifix and various statues date from the 18th century
