The church is essentially a late Gothic building made of tuff stone . The upper floor of the tower was built by Caspar Feichtmayr around 1685 . In 1785 the church was redesigned in baroque style. A renovation of the interior took place in 1964/65, the exterior was renovated in 1982.

Construction and equipment

The church is a five- bay hall church with a polygonal choir that is only slightly drawn in. The tower is in the west. The sacristy and an oratory are built on the south side of the choir . The nave has rococo stucco in the needle cap barrel , which Franz Edmund Doll (1744–1824) from Wessobrunn created in 1785. The beginnings of the vaults are decorated with flower vases and putti , in the stitch caps there are motifs from classicism . The ceiling paintings by the Munich court painter Christian Wink represent the condemnation of St. Laurentius and the farewell to Sixtus , in the choir the foundation of the Königsdorf Sacred Heart Brotherhood. The high altar was created by Johann Georg Miller in 1787; the sculptures are workshop work by Joseph Anton Fröhlich from Bad Tölz . The altarpiece by Christian Wink represents the torture of St. Laurentius. The paintings on the side altars are also works by Wink. Some sculptures are made in the manner of Johann Baptist Straub (crucifixion group; sculptures of St. Peter and Maria Magdalena). There are two red marble tombstones on the walls of the choir. The church has an early classicist pulpit. The lower gallery bears two altars, one of which with a Madonna from around 1500.
