St. Mary of the Assumption

The Catholic parish church of St. Mariä Himmelfahrt is a listed church building in Bosseborn , a district of Höxter in the Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The flat-roofed, simple hall church was built in 1720 with 3/8 end and roof turret. It was consecrated on September 1, 1726 under Abbot Carl von Blittersdorf.

The entrance is crowned with a coat of arms . In the church there is a high altar and a pulpit by Christophel Papen from 1719. Both objects were extensively restored in 1956. The font in the shape of a cup dates from the 18th century.

The church in Bosseborn is the youngest of a series of very closely related churches that were built in the region between 1683 and 1726. The other six are the churches in Bödexen and Ovenhausen consecrated by Abbot Christoph von Bellinghausen from Corvey in 1683 and 1685 , as well as the churches in Stahle (1697), Albaxen (1698), Godelheim (1699) and Lüchtringen ( built under Abbot Florence von dem Felde ) 1700).
