Parish Church of St. Mary

St. Marien , officially Immaculate Conception , in Delitzsch is a Roman Catholic parish church in the district of Northern Saxony . The parish of St. Klara Delitzsch is part of the Torgau deanery in the Magdeburg diocese .

The current church building was erected in 1936 within a few months. It was designed by Johannes Reuter and replaced a smaller previous building from 1867/68. On August 16, 1936, the first took place sod , and already on December 20, 1936, was followed by benediction of the church with the consecration of the bells. Only on June 19, 1938, Auxiliary Bishop Augustinus Philipp Baumann consecrated the church.

The parish priests were Friedrich Schröder from 1858, Adolf Baeseler from 1860, currently Michael Poschlod.

The organ dates from 2013, it was made by the organ builder Weimbs from Hellenthal . The slider chests -instrument has 23 registers on two manual works and pedal . The playing and stop actions are mechanical.
