The St. Martin's Institute of Information Technology (abbreviation SMI ) is a public university in Malta .

St. Martin's Institute of Higher Education was founded in 1985 with the aim of providing computer instruction. Due to a steady influx of students, a conversion to a state university took place in 2000. A bachelor's program (“BSc (Hons)”) in Computing & Information Systems was initially set up with the University of London , and from 2005 also for accounting, banking, economics, IT, business, English, information systems and management with the University of London and London School of Economics and Political Science .
