St. Mauritius (Dissen)
St. Mauritius in Dissen am Teutoburg Forest is the parish church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church . Parish of Dissen, which belongs to the Melle-Georgsmarienhütte parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover .
Building history and architecture
The current church building was consecrated in 1276 . It is a cross-shaped hall building with a two-bay nave , a straight closed choir , rectangular cross arms and a square west tower .
In the nave and in the cross arms there is groin vault , in the crossing and in the choir pear ribs on corner services .
Excavations have shown that in the area of the nave and the crossing there was a narrower previous building, probably with an apse . A stone work-like building in the area of today's southern transverse arm probably belonged to this .
Interior
The oldest origin has a chalice , whose foot Romanesque , stem gothic and cuppa baroque is. Most of the interior is post-Reformation : one of the three galleries dates from 1654, the pulpit from the 17th or 18th century, the altarpiece from 1765 and the organ front from 1789.
