St. Michael is a Roman Catholic church in Cologne-Zündorf in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until the construction of the new Church of St. Mary's Birth, it was the local Catholic parish church.

history

A Merovingian tendril relief from the 7th century has been preserved next to the south portal to this day. The parish church was mentioned for the first time in the liber valoris around 1300. The patronage was owned by the St. Severin monastery in Cologne since 1362.

The core of the nave was built in the 11th century and a north aisle was added later. In 1170 the richly decorated west tower with a rhombus helmet and a choir closed on three sides were added. In 1690 and 1722, restoration work took place on the church, in the course of which the choir and sacristy were rebuilt. In 1906 the aisle was demolished.

St. Mary's Birth has been the new Catholic parish church in Zündorf since 1897.
