St. Michael (Sandberg)
The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Michael is the village church of Sandberg in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld . The church is one of the architectural monuments of Sandberg and is registered together with the cemetery cross and a figure of St. Michael under the number D-6-73-162-2 in the Bavarian list of monuments . Sandberg is the center of the parish community “Die Walddörfer”.
history
Sandberg was initially a branch of the parish of Premich and became an independent parish in 1864. In 1931, today's church was built in the Baroque style of the homeland .
description
The church tower with a tent roof rises on the north side of the nave . The nave is surmounted by an upper aisle in the middle . The southern choir is semicircular.
Furnishing
In the choir there is a painting of St. Michael with an inscription. The church has no altars. To the left of the nave is a wooden pulpit . The organ is set up on the northern gallery .
Bells
In the church tower hang three bells with the tones g '- b' - c ”.
