St. Nikolaus in Notzing , a part of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Oberding , is a church building of the Roman Catholic Church . It is a branch church of the parish association Aufkirchen . The church is a listed building .

history

The current church building was erected in the second half of the 15th century. In the church tower , however, there are still Romanesque remains that go back to the 13th century. Remnants of wall paintings from the time the nave was built are still there.

In the 17th century the ceiling of the nave was renewed. The baroque side altars date from around 1680, the high altar is slightly older. It shows the church patron Nikolaus von Myra and as secondary characters the holy bishops Ulrich von Augsburg and Wolfgang von Regensburg .

The church is in the middle of a cemetery, which is surrounded by a low wall.

Most noticeable is the grave of the Lords of Notzing Castle, which is directly to the left of the south portal of the church on the church wall. A niche with a flat arch is framed by two pilasters, and a low box hedge grows around the grave slab in front of the wall.

Two stone tablets for Joh. Fr. Christoph Frhr hang on the wall . v. Segesser on Brunegg u. Notzing († 1812) and Maria Adelheid Freyfrau v. Segesser on Brunegg u. Notzing, b. Freyin v. Contactor. The grave inscriptions of Jakob Freiherr von Washington (1778–1848) and his wife Caroline Friederike Wilhelmine Freifrau von Washington, geb. Baroness von Segesser auf Brunegg (1801–1841) engraved, in the middle a relief shows the coats of arms of the Washington and Segesser families. The stone slab that covers the grave bears the grave inscriptions of their son Carl Theodor Freiherr v. Washington (1833–1897) and his wife Maria Freifrau von Washington, geb. Countess Butler-Haimhausen (1844–1933).
