The Roman Catholic Church of St. Ottilia is located in Ginolfs , a district of in Lower Franconia nearby market Oberelsbach . The church is dedicated to St. Odilia .

The church is one of the architectural monuments of Oberelsbach and is registered under the number D-6-73-149-16 in the Bavarian list of monuments .

history

The church was built in 1602 or, according to a different dating, in 1605, but in any case under the Würzburg prince-bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn .

Description and equipment

The nave merges into the eastern choir with a three-eighth end . It is equipped with two window axes. The choir, on the other hand, has no windows. The roof turret rises above the choir . The two side altars were made around 1700; their altarpieces show St. Mary and St. Joseph . The baptismal font was also built around 1700. The high altar with a picture of St. Ottilia and four female saints were created around 1740 or, according to another opinion, around 1750. The pulpit was also built around 1750 .

The ringing is three-part and sounds very melodic with the whole-tone steps between c´´, d´´ and e´´.
