The listed Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Peter and Paul is in Unterlemnitz , a district of the city of Bad Lobenstein in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia . The community town of Unterlemnitz belongs to the parish of Bad Lobenstein of the parish area Bad Lobenstein in church circle Schleiz the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The Romanesque hall church received its current appearance in 1680, 1780 and in the 19th century. It has a retracted choir and a choir tower with an eight - sided slate - roofed tower, behind whose sound arcades is the belfry in which a church bell from 1524 hangs. It also houses the tower clock . The tower is covered with double domes , the upper one is crowned by a tower ball . During plastering work in the nave, Romanesque masonry in a herringbone bond came to light. The interior, which is covered with a flat ceiling , is equipped with galleries . The church furnishings include a pulpit altar from the 17th century. The organ with eight registers , divided into a manual and a pedal , was built in 1790 by Johann David Schättlich.
