The Roman Catholic branch church of St. Sebastian is the village church of Halsheim , a district of Arnstein in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart . The church belongs to the architectural monuments of Arnstein and is registered under the number D-6-77-114-190 in the Bavarian monument list . Halsheim is part of the parish community "Um Maria Sondheim ".

history

Halsheim was a branch of the Binsfeld parish . The oldest part of the church are the lower floors of the church tower , which were built in 1611 . The nave , the choir and the top floor of the church tower were built in 1811. In 1885 the church was rebuilt. The interior was renovated in 2012.

7The rectangular, closed choir with barrel vault is located in the north. The steeple with a pointed roof is on the east side of the nave. The sound windows of the upper floor, which was added in 1811, consist of double round arches ; those below are ogival . The flat-roofed nave has a curved gable on the south side. The windows of the choir and nave are rounded.

Furnishing

The high altar was redesigned in 2012 and equipped with an oil painting from the 16th century from northern Italy; next to the high altar there are figures of the evangelists Luke and Mark . In the chancel arch a hanging crucifix . Figures of Our Lady and John can be seen on both sides of the choir arch . The two side altars , like the pulpit, are made in the classicism style at the time of construction . On the right side altar is a figure of the patron saint Sebastian , on the left another figure of Our Lady.
