The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Vitus is a listed church building in Sünninghausen , a district of Oelde , in the Warendorf district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The parish has been documented since 1276. The four-bay hall building in neo-Gothic forms, with a choir in the 5/8 end , was built from bricks in 1865 under the direction of Emil von Manger . The building is covered by a gable roof covered with natural slate . The choir is lower than the ship . A sacristy is built in the southeast . In the west the facade tower joins under a helmet roof ; its floor plan is square.
Furnishing
- The sacrament house made of Baumberger sandstone is ascribed to the Bunickman workshop.
- The passion retable from around 1470, painted in oil on oak , comes from the circle of the master from Liesborn . It was heavily painted over.
- A carved crucifix is a work from the second half of the 14th century
- The figure of St. Veit was carved in the 15th century, he was once taken .
- The slider chest organ was built in 1988 by S. Sauer from Höxter-Ottbergen. It has 19 stops as well as a mechanical and electrical stop action .
