history

The first church in Madenhausen, which originally belonged to the Maßbach parish , stood on the western edge of the village. As in Maßbach, the Reformation was introduced in the village between 1529 and 1532 . In 1834, the old church had to be closed due to dilapidation. From 1851 to 1852, today's church was built by the architect Gottfried von Neureuther in the neo-Romanesque style. In 1961 the parish was changed to Thundorf and in 1972 merged with Zell and Weipoltshausen to form today's parish.
