Stachen is a town near Arbon in the Swiss canton of Thurgau . Stachen formed with the Speiserslehn and Feilen an exclave of the local community Frasnacht , which merged in 1998 with the community Arbon.
geography
Stachen is on the main road Arbon - Roggwil - St. Gallen and has now practically grown together with the two neighboring towns. The Bodensee motorway slip road (A1.1) passes directly by Stachen . In public transport Stachen is from the post bus line 200 St. Gallen- Wittenbach - Arbon in half hour tapped.

population
Of the total of 875 inhabitants in the village of Stachen in 2018, 203 or 23.2% were foreign nationals. 312 (35.7%) were Roman Catholic and 267 (30.5%) Protestant Reformed.
economy
In the last 150 years, Stachen has developed from a farming village to part of the Arbon agglomeration. The Möhl cider factory, which went into operation in 1895, transformed from an inn to one of the most important apple juice and cider producers in Switzerland. The family business processes between 25,000 and 40,000 tons of cider fruit annually .
education
There has been a primary school in Stachen for over 100 years , where until 1999 only lower school children were taught. Then the independent primary school community of Stachen emerged from the Speiserslehn school community. It now offers all children from kindergarten to sixth grade the opportunity to attend school in town.
Attractions
The Swiss cider and distillery museum is located in Stachen under the name “Museum of Modern Öpfel” (MoMö).
