The June 30th Stadium ( Arabic ملعب 30 يونيو, full name: Stadium of June 30th of the Egyptian Air Defense Forces ) is a soccer stadium with an athletics facility in the Egyptian capital Cairo . It is about 20 km east of the city center. It was built on behalf of the Egyptian Air Defense Forces ( German  Egyptian Air Defense Forces ) and is the center of Air Defense Sport Village . The spacious stadium area offers seats for 30,000 visitors in its stands. The Pyramids FC football club plays its home games here.

During an Egyptian Premier League game on February 8, 2015 between the Cairo clubs ENPPI Club and al Zamalek SC , there were clashes between visitors and the police in front of the stadium . The Ministry of the Interior had previously limited the number of spectators to 10,000, and tickets were sold quickly. Police used tear gas and rubber bullets when al Zamalek fans who were without tickets tried to break through a cordon . This triggered a mass panic and riots, which resulted in deaths and injuries. At least 22 people are said to have died. It was the worst unrest in a stadium in Egypt since 2012. On February 1 of that year, al-Masry from Port Said and the Cairo club al Ahly SC faced each other in the Port Said stadium . After the game, fans of al-Masry stormed the pitch and attacked players and fans of al Ahly. In the Port Said riot , 74 people lost their lives and hundreds were injured.
